Playtech’s casino content is now available in New Jersey through a long-term partnership with bet365. According to an August 6 announcement, the global online casino game developer will make some of its best titles – including Frankie Dettori’s Magic Seven, Great Blue, and White King –?available to customers through bet365’s online casino offering.

This is the first time that Playtech has gotten involved in the US market, with further plans in mind to obtain licenses in other US states and branch out into live casino and sports betting offerings.?
The deal between the two companies initially got approval in June from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
A landmark launch
Playtech chief operating officer Shimon Akad said the company’s software launch in the US “is a landmark, and we are very pleased to be taking this step with one of our most trusted partners in bet365.”
Akad outlined that new software content and titles will be rolled out over the next few weeks and months. In addition to the New Jersey partnership, Playtech and bet365 already work together in other licensed markets across the world.?
Online casino market in New Jersey
Online casinos and poker are becoming more popular in the state of New Jersey. The two gaming segments received a boost during the COVID-19 pandemic, amid casino closures and the absence of popular sporting events to bet on. Most of the casinos in Atlantic City reopened July 2, with sporting events now starting to get back in action.
revenue more than doubled year-on-year
In June 2020, the revenue for the online casino platforms in New Jersey was $81.4m. This was more than double the June 2019 figure. For online poker platforms, revenue more than doubled year-on-year to $3.5m. The combined revenue of $84.9m was just off the all-time monthly record set in May.?
It was also this week that Twin River signed a ten-year deal with online gambling operator PointsBet to roll out an online casino and sportsbook in the state. The launch is pending regulatory approval.
